This show was infinitely better than the last Cloud Rat show. It started with Atmospheric Doom act Bellow. Second time seeing them, still tight. Talked to the drummer after their set and demanded a vinyl release. He said sometime in winter. Second up was False, black metal based in Minneapolis. They played a two song set, but everybody wanted another, so they played a third. The third song is being released on a split with Barghest (Louisiana black metal) and was definitely the best song of their set. I can’t wait to pick that shit up. Finally, Cloud Rat came on. This time, no microphone problems. During the second song of their set, I started to mosh out real hard… evidently too hard. One of the members of the Trumbullplex told me to settle down. I talked to her after. She thought I was hitting people, which she realized shortly after telling me to settle down that I wasn’t. I just get really, really psyched for ‘Incantations’. Evidently the Trumbullplex has an anti-fun policy. It’s like a black-tie affair every time you go. You have to be on your best behavior, and evidently moshing hard by yourself is not best behavior material. I am getting sick of going to shows and not being able to mosh with others. For some reason, nobody wants to get into a pit. Guess I’ll have to wait for Converge. Anywho, picked up the Cloud Rat/The Oily Menace/Wolbachia split. It came with a package of kale seeds. Also picked up False’s s/t. That came with a free patch.
